July 1, 2027 Membership Transition

Beginning July 1, 2027, Core Access and Total Access are open to professionals serving in administrative, operational, or executive roles within synagogues of any denomination. Retired NATA members and professionals working in Jewish communal organizations that support synagogue administration may join through Community Access.

It soon will be! NATA is expanding to serve professionals across the full synagogue administrative team, including finance professionals, operations staff, communications professionals, administrators, and executive leaders.

Core Access provides meaningful benefits including voting rights, community access, networking, and select programming. Total Access includes all Core Access benefits plus conference registration support, education intensives, leadership eligibility, and priority access to select offerings.

Yes. Core Access members retain voting rights and are encouraged to participate in NATA governance and annual meetings.

There is an opportunity to change levels in the summer during the annual renewal period. Members may move between membership pathways as their professional needs evolve.

Education intensives are small-group, deep-dive learning experiences designed for advanced professional development. Examples include the Certificate in Synagogue Executive Leadership, online learning cohorts, and specialized learning retreats. 

Total Access members may be eligible to serve as committee chairs and board members. They are invited to participate in task forces and leadership development programs as opportunities arise.

Absolutely. Membership belongs to the individual professional, not the congregation, and there is no limit to the number of colleagues who may participate. Each individual is encouraged to select the membership pathway that makes the most sense for them.

Yes. Community Access membership allows retired professionals to stay connected to colleagues, participate in select programming, and receive news about our field. 

Absolutely! As of July 1, 2027, NATA membership is open to administrative professionals from all Jewish congregations.

We know that peer relationships are at the heart of the NATA experience. Synagogue executive directors will continue to have dedicated opportunities to connect with peers, while new role-based communities expand opportunities for professionals across the broader synagogue administrative team.

You will continue to have many opportunities to connect with your NATA colleagues. Throughout the year, members can participate in specialized NATA Connect communities, join NATA Network peer discussion sessions, and engage in conversations with colleagues facing similar opportunities and challenges.

Our annual conference will also continue to feature dedicated NATA programming and networking opportunities, giving members time to reconnect, exchange ideas, and strengthen the professional relationships that make our community so valuable.

You don’t! Our new membership pathways were designed specifically to lower costs for many synagogue professionals. Selecting Core Access allows you to pay only for those programs you use throughout the year. Selecting Total Access is most similar to the traditional Regular or Associate NATA membership, but it is NOT required.
