Membership Information

Eligibility

NATA offers several membership categories. Your role within your congregation or community determines the category for which you are eligible. Although NATA is affiliated with the Union for Reform Judaism (URJ), membership is open to synagogue professionals of any affiliation.

If you are employed by a synagogue as the senior administrative professional - Executive Director, Administrator, or equivalent - you are eligible for regular membership.

Other synagogue executives are also eligible for regular membership if you serve 2 or more executive functions. This includes assistant or associate directors. If you have questions about your qualifications for regular membership, feel free to reach out to the NATA office.

Annual dues are based on member's salary. To determine your membership dues, see the Membership Application.

If you are employed by a synagogue and designated by the Executive Director or President as having one executive function, but are not the senior administration professional, you are eligible for associate membership.

If you have questions about your qualifications for associate level membership, feel free to reach out to the NATA office.

Annual dues are based on member's salary. To determine your membership dues, see the Membership Application.

If you are a senior professional whose employment is related to Jewish communal administration and you are not employed by a synagogue, you are eligible for affiliate membership.

Any person who has been a regular NATA member for five years before retiring or leaving the field is eligible for alumni membership.

Note: If you are a current or returning member and want to move to alumni status, please contact the NATA Office, do not complete the new member application form.

Any person who is a regular member of the North American Association of Synagogue Executives (NAASE) is eligible for a courtesy access to NATA resources at no cost. Membership in NAASE will be verified before NATA access is granted or renewed.
