Eligibility
NATA offers several membership categories. Your role within your congregation or community determines the category for which you are eligible. Although NATA is affiliated with the Union for Reform Judaism (URJ), membership is open to synagogue professionals of any affiliation.
Any person employed by a synagogue as the senior administrative professional - Executive Director, Administrator, or equivalent - is eligible for regular membership.
Annual dues are based on member's salary. To determine your dues, see the Membership Application.
Any person employed by a synagogue in an operational capacity, but is not the senior administration professional, is eligible for associate membership.
There are two types of affiliate membership:
- Senior synagogue professionals who maintain a primary membership in another association, such as PEP-RJ, ECE, or NAASE.
- Senior administrative professionals in Jewish communal organizations such as URJ affiliates or Jewish Community Centers.
Any person who is a regular member of the North American Association of Synagogue Executives (NAASE) is eligible for a courtesy reciprocal membership in NATA at no cost. Membership in NAASE will be verified before NATA membership is granted or renewed.
Any person who has been a regular NATA member for five years before retiring or leaving the field is eligible for alumni membership.
